You know, the reviews on this site seem rather one-dimensional. I tend to read the reviews before I read a story to get a feel for it. However, all I seem to get here is, "oh that's hot, I love it 'cause I'm such a perv!" etc, that does absolutely nothing for me.

With that said, I like a story where the plot and the smut go hand in hand, your emphasis on the story is less pronounced here. We're getting bits and pieces about the Syndicate, still not as much info as I'd like to know but I'll assume you'll eventually get to it. After all there is no rush and the sex is well described.

In terms of originality this is great; you've got a character who is an assassin on the one hand and a submissive docile pet on the other. You'd think the personaility requirements of an assassin would clash with any sort of submissive behavior, but the way you've portrayed it works.

I do also like Mikhail's indecision when it came to killing children. His childhood experience ties in well with this. It kind of reminded me of that scene in "Electra" where she couldn't kill the father and his daughter. It proves not all assassins are heartless.

In closing, I'm curious about the time line of the story, it's obviously set on Earth, but is it present time or futuristic?

This story keeps getting better and better. The writing is really solid, the sex is hot and varied, and the characters are very well done. I liked that you didn't play up any romance between Mikhail and Jewel, but still managed to add a bit of sweetness to an otherwise businesslike scene. I love how conflicted Mikhail is about himself: he's a pain slut and he hates it, a brilliant killer and he hates it (or at least feels guilty about it sometimes, and can't kill children).

The plot is also really good. It flows really naturally, and feels a lot like a spy or assassin movie, just with more hot gay BDSM sex. Can't wait for the next chapter!

I just finished reading the prologue and first two chapters. I'm loving this story and don't see how it hasn't gotten more reviews. A tormented pain slut assassin bound to a twisted psychopath? Sign me up pronto! I can't wait for updates.
