I turn away from this story for a while and all of a sudden I find out that four other chapters pop up. This is what I get when I have serious Writer's Block.

With the exception of Dead Rising (I knew what it was, and have wanted to play it for a LONG while now), KaiserRyouga2 pretty much summed up my review. The spelling and grammar improved immensely (sorry that I'm such a stickler to form, but the slightest mistake, even and especially in my work, sets me off), which is good to see.

Keep up the excellent work, and let me know when there's a new chapter up!

Wow. This is just like that prom scene in South of Nowhere (except for the lack of guns). Why on Earth would anyone want to hurt Megan? Is this a calculated thing or was it just some punk looking to mug and beat up on some random girl? You know I can't wait to find out. ^_^

By the way, did you upload two chapters or did I miss an update? Either way it doesn't matter really. Two characters in the past two chapters story really shined for me, one of them was good ol Joe, the other was the new girl, Faith. I like that Joe didn't take advantage of Becky. He could have done, there are probably a lot of guys who WOULD have done, but he didn't. That's cool. And I have to say that I really like Faith (which, given the fact that she's a Christian) is a very appropriate name for her. It's too easy and too tempting to portray all religious folk as stiff homophobic zealots. Taking the opportunity to show that not all Christians are like that is respectable. Gotta say though -- what the heck is Dead Rising? Is it a survival horror like Silent Hill or a shoot-em-up or something? Does it have a console release...? Hmm. Maybe I should find out more...

All in all very good updates. It's nice to see that Megan is back in the focus too because we haven't seen much of her recently. And I think I'm validated now in saying that I don't like Iris. I REALLY don't like Iris. I didn't like her from the first time she appeared and I like her even LESS now. I'm not really sure what Joey sees in her or why he even gave her the time of day to begin with, but I can't always understand where people are coming from. If I were Becky I would have chucked a coke in her face... but hey, that's just me.

You probably get by now how much I like your story so I don't need to re-affirm the point. You just keep on writing this nectar and I'll keep on devouring it.

Dead Rising is awesome! My particular favorite is the hardware store... lawn mower anyone! Bwahaha

Anyway, good chapter, can't wait to see what happens next... and I'm a bit worried about Megan, especially if you're putting Faith in as a main character.

(claps)

Yes. Yes! YES!! *This* is what it's about, you know? This is what it's all about. I can't tell you the amount of femslashes I've read where young women automatically discover that they're gay and then just jump right on the bandwagon as though no questions need to be asked, no feelings have to be worked through, as though there can be no reluctance or trepidation. It's about time more authors (unpublished ones at least) like us gave this notion a swift kick in the arse.

I tell ya, the moment I read Becky kissing Joe, it was like, "bang! this author gets it!". And that's the truth. No one jumps headfirst into their sexuality without making missteps like this. No one is so frank and forthright that they can just collapse into being a lesbian and not look back, or be fearful that taking that big step is going make life hard. I'm so glad that you installed those doubts into Rebecca. I know its kind of tragic to delay her and Megan getting together, but Megan's had the time to get comfortable with her sexuality, she's had the time to learn to understand it. Now Becky needs hers, and I have no doubt that, through it all, she'll realize that Megan's the one she should be with.

I'm sorry for being long-winded but "Labels Were Our Friends" is the first fiction I've read in quite a while that understands that teen sexuality isn't a straight, smooth line (and that people's family/home lives aren't always so damn perfect). Hats off to you, my friend.

Anything else? Hmm... nah, I don't think so. Other than to say I'm really diggin' Megan, I like the fact that she comes off as normal without being shallow, I also like the way she handled Rebecca's outburst there: "You talk too much..." yeah, that was sweet. Gotta say though... I'm not Iris' biggest fan. In a way I'm kind of relieved that she and Megan aren't together because for the life of me I can't see anything redeeming about her. Oh, and, Joey's cool too, I just hope he doesn't read too much into what Becky did there (although I wouldn't blame him if he did... he's essentially on the rebound).

Anyways, I have no criticisms at this point, other than the time it took to update (that's kind of hypocritical coming from me but lets face it; no one likes to wait ^_^). Other than that, I'm REALLY taken in by this story. It's face-paced but it feels more 'natural' and realistic to me than a lot of the other stories I've come across recently. Good-fucking-job and keep up the good-fucking-work.
