Totally facinating story. Love the characters so much, Andreji is mysterious and sexy and immensely captivating, River is like a little brother that you cannot help but love and want to protect. Awesome, awesome story, cannot wait to get on with the sequel, thank you and thank goodness for the sequel!

That was a wonderful story, certainly one of my favorites. So happy to see a sequel because I have not had enough of Andreji and Rivers, such an awesome couple. Even though I am sure I may never hear Andreji say those three little words, he loves River in his own way through his actions so I have to be satisfied with that and yet that is what makes this story so addictive. On to the next....

Just dropping a line to say I've read and enjoyed this installment, although the ending was rather...abrupt. Well, onto the second volume! Must know more!
P.S: Also, some chapters they had sex every chapter...I don't know why but that started to bother me and I found myself thinking "Oh they're gonna get laid. AGAIN.". Not that it's a bad thing, just my opinion.

This was one of the few multi-chapter complex plot vampire works I have red. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to start the second part. I'll also take a look at your other work for I like your writing style a lot.

I read it, I loved it, I appreciated Andreji, interesting character, AND I would love to see what's going on in his brain more often !!! I expect something good when he will drink River's blood in the sequel...?!
Thank you for your story, even if there are some mistakes (I think so BUT being french I maybee think wrong... ^^) (and your sentences in german and french were very good !!)
Bonjour de la France !

Answer to BloodSugar's reviews: Thank you for your honesty! I appreciate reviews that don't just fawn over me/my work.
I agree with you that River acts unusual and as a reader I might not 'buy into it' either. However, I made him act strangely. He has to be unusual in order to be compatible with Andreji. Had he acted out more, Andreji would've found a way to get rid of the nuisance.
River is a loner. He took care of his dying mother when he was a youth and thus had little time for friends and never really could catch up with that. What you call his 'friends' were in fact only colleagues that never treated him as fully equal (or so he felt). He is lonely, melancholic, and hungers for some attention.
Andreji, on the other hand, pays attention to River in a manner that he's not used to. He's a real man, someone River can look up to, and he's interested in River (I even hint later on that he is also some kind of father figure)! The young man is just flattered.
When River and his colleagues step into the trap, he is a) shocked b) frightened, and c) he knows he has no chance against the vampires and prefers to keep his head down instead of drawing attention to himself. In addition, he never sees any horrors. He hears that his companions are doomed to die, but he does not see their deaths, and he himself is treated quite politely. You will notice with time that he is a little self-centred and immature, thus - even though he is shocked by it - the destiny of his companions dies not drive him to tears. He is more occupied with what's going to happen to himself.
As to the pace - you're the first to say it's catching up too fast. Perhaps that has to do with your problems of understanding River's psyche? He longs for safety and affection, and surrendering to the inevitable seems to be the best way to obtain both (and don't forget the 'natural pull' between Master and fledgling). And just because they get close physically does not mean they are happy lovers from chapter 11 onwards...

I'm at chapter four and if I have to be honest, this story is well written but confusing. River has been made a slave of vampires and his friends have been punished like mere villains and yet he is taking it so well it's obvious that he is a fictional character. lol Any normal person in his position would be depressed, furious and even suicidal.
I am definitely looking forward to what happens next because I hope it makes more sense.
