Interesting start so far! :) I will be keeping my eye on it.
Now,Just a little creative critism (but not to worry, I am gentle), if you're doing it as a Mafia/La Cosa Nostra family...Women don't have any rulership/leadership. Unless of course they are not true mob, but you stated that the "Du Valle's were one of the most powerful Mob families".
If you are doing a story on the N'Drangheta or maybe even Camorra back in the homeland of Italy it might work better. Just a humble suggestion. Good luck and I'll continue to see where you are going with this.
