Wow I love all your descriptions in this chapter with the rain and the pool. It was very sensual! Being a big worry-wart though, I kept worrying about lightning! Lol
The sexual tension between Jess and Bex was beautiful handled. They are so alike in many ways, it seems so natural that they would be drawn to each other.
So now that Holden has caught them I can’t wait to see what happens and what a twist with Jess being Annabelle’s cousin. Please update soon!

No way! Jess is related to Annabelle! How potentially alarming!
So they've definitely bonded...do I sense a bit of three-way bonding over a cane or similar coming up in the future? Hehe.
(Classic FM has too many ads though - it has to be R3 if you want some decent music without a load of wittering.)
(Was at a late bar in Clerkenwell called Vic Naylor's and, thinking I was going to the loo, I accidentally walked out into the back yard through the kitchen door, which clicked shut behind me. I was locked out, my handbag was inside, I couldn't find my way round the terrace to get to the entrance again - argh! Moped in the doorway of Farringdon tube for a little while - it was about 2a.m. - then decided to walk home. Went through the Smithfield market, and it was the eve of the Lord Mayor's Show, so it was full of massive carnival floats and cut-out figures, which was eerie to the point of freaky at that dark, deserted time of night...and somehow I navigated due south west and found myself back in Tooting nearly three hours later. God, I thought I'd never walk again, but at least I didn't get murdered/mugged or whatever. Not to mention die of exposure, as it was November and I had no coat on. So that's that story!)

Oh, and after that long ramble, I forgot to say, get well soon. Glandular fever sucks - doesn't it last ages and ages too? And how horrible that you're all alone. Do you have decent neighbours or friends in your town/village? Who is looking after you? (Reply on my LJ if you can.)

Aw Evie, this was fantastic!! Wow you’ve become such a great writer in such a short amount of time. I’m so impressed!
I loved how you filled in the time lapse with your back-story and I think it’s great that Holden and Rebecca are living the good life. I also liked how they decided to celebrate their anniversary. Hahaha – Nothing like the good ole days “when Holden would thrash her fuck her senseless against his study door.” Damn that sounds hot! :D
Now I am wondering what is going to happen with Jess. Is Holden going to thrash her too I wonder? What a though eh? Squee! :D

Beautiful chapter, Evie - so nicely thought-out, with it being their anniversary (of her first thrashing, how apt) and you filled in the intervening few years very deftly - without going overboard with detail and flashbacks, you gave just enough to let the reader know exactly how things stood. I loved Bex's 'anniversary celebration' of going to the pub in her school uniform, and the re-enactment in Jack's study was absolutely glorious. 'Since it's a Catholic school you should operate a policy of forgiveness' - how funny.
So is there going to be more of Jess in the next chapter? I'm breathless, and very pleased that the old sadist/perfectionist Holden is back.
(And bless you for worrying about me - I was fine ;) ).
