Poor Vas, getting his heart slowly ripped in two (looking for love in all the wrong places! :)

Reviewing Chapters 28 -31
I was glad to see Vespa and Veione about to confess their true feelings. However, they were supposed to continue their talk when he returned from the village, but they never did. Why not?
Dean turned out to be a real diplomate, handling the nobles in Darcia absents. I was glad she and Vespa decided to work together on this. Not that their friends or their fight is over, just that it was the time to fight.
Leoff is really in a hard spot. Firstly, I think he took Vas' talk with his cousin Blake wrong. But since he is new in this area of trusting others or having other worthy of trusting - it is expected. I thought he was smart to cover himself when killing the messenger - I think he would have died if he gave the wrong response. However, I was surpised that he was willing to kill "an unarmed woman" - like he told Vas. I know he doing these things to get to his sister, but I don't know. I think he was smart not asking question in the beginning or snooping around, but now he's deeper into things. I think he should have started to wonder why are they doing all of this, is this right or wrong?
Of course, this just shows how great your writing is. Of all people to have to kill Dean, her own brother - who is just doing all of this to get her back. I really thought Dean was going to get shot really bad before Leoff seen who she was. I was greatly surpise that not only was she not hurt bad - but they also mentally spoke to each other - AWESOME!!! However, why did she tell him to run, why not just tell Darcia he is her brother. Leoff could just explain everything and Dean could tell him she is not being hurt by Darcia.
This confused me before, when Leoff first tries to rescue Dean and ended up fighting Veione. Why didn't they just tell Darcia that her brother came for her. Or when she went to see Leoff at the gladiator arena and almost got raped. Why didn't she tell Darcia she needed to check on her brother. I really don't think Darcia is going to kill her brother. However, I do think he is going to be very anger if he finds her missing from the inn. And there is not telling what he might do if he finds her with the men sent to kill her. Oh, please don't let anything bad happen.
Also, at first I thought it was just a noble that was betraying Darcia, but I think it's someone else too. Someone close to Darcia - but I really have no idea who that could be. I am really stumped on that one.

Poor Daen, everyone seems to have it in for her! It will be interesting to see how Leoff reacts when he finds out who he's been sent to kill (will he give up, or has he become too hardened a killer? And whatever will he do about Vas..?)

Ahh a new chapter. And no worries about having not posted so long. You post faster than me, still :D
Again, your latest chapter was full of charm, mood and atmosphere :) if your story doesn't get chosen by a publisher, they are daft...
I am so sick of mainstream fantasy and there should be more like yours! And there are many more readers who think the same.

Hmm Darcia and Daen had their first dispute while being officially together :D
I am glad he accepted Daen's doubts and trusts her judgment when to question the girl, and also when to use the magic.
And yessss, she is his Queen :) he better accepts that.
Now I am curious about his demon-sword. Demons are fickle volatile creatures, too occupied with their own needs and cravings.

You know? I'm beginning to like Vespa. I do hope she and Dean can learn to get along, maybe possibly even be tentative aquaintences. I think it's too much to hope they'll be friends just yet, but hey! Ya never know.
And I wanted to promote it not on my forum but on AFF's. But now that you mention it, I think I'll link it to my LJ and threaten everyone who doesn't read and review every bloody chapter with slow and violent torture. After all, blowing off such an incredible work of fiction, of art like this one is a blatant disregard for everything humane and it is just absolutely unacceptable. *nods* Yep, unacceptable.

And thanks so much! I had a great time in England...mostly. Matt broke off the engagement there and when I got back, a week later I get an email stating that he's breaking up with me. Nearly two years down the drain. I'm crushed, but Dean and Darcia do help. Still, I don't think I'll ever trust or love again.
