Thank you for burying Kevin next to Reggy!

You haven't even written it but I'm already crying. You will make Skell go away, won't you? I see it right before my mind's eye but maybe I don't have to worry for Azrael any longer.

(I'm surprised Armor deals with Skell - I'd expected it to be Marcus but maybe Armor simply can't stay away from him.)

Yeah, a Claudius-chapter next (unless Skell decides to take a circuit). BTW where are the ancient ancients? I miss Hades!

Go on! Thank you for sharing!

^^ I think I like this one better. Yes, there's no vampire bunnies, but I don't think A/X/S is ready for that yet. Perhaps if he stays back at home for a awhile longer, getting a couple more memories, settle down a bit, then he'll be ready. I think he'll still have the same reaction to hearing that he was made without Coven.
As for Claudia, I think she will wait for awhile for them to get their memories back before smacking and giving him an earful for running away like that without letting Father explain. And leaving her along without any friends. Cause you just know she's waiting for her chance to explode on him about that.
After this chapter, I still think that X/S/A should find a piano in the house, after some good wandering/walking around, and someone should find him playing it.

Wow. I think I like this re-capture of X/S/A - oh fine, Skell - much more than the first one. It's extremely cruel, but I'm actually GLAD that Kevin's dead. I was utterly jealous of Skell's affection for him, I must admit.

In Ch. 6, you mentioned "Carl" in the bathroom scene. Is that Andrews' first name? (Carl Andrews?)

Yo, back for another comment, I'm not the best commenter XD sorry. ANYWAY! I actually like this new book so far, the ending to Caramel was awesome, really, and Im eagerly waiting your next chapter in Cloves now. I also am eagerly waiting to see if these will ever get published, because I would love to buy them when/if they are.
I was actually sad because for about three or so weeks I was out of town and the computer where I was staying couldn't access this site, and when I got to one that could, I was surprised that you'd already finished book 3 and started Clove. Sadly in all the time I was gone I only was only able to catch up reading one of the chapters in Caramel in that whole time.
What you should be proud of though is that when I came back I bought a book to read from a popular series. Earlier yesterday I knew I was forgetting to check something on my home computer, but I forgot until I was a few chapters into the purchased book and then realized I hadn't checked AFF. So, in the middle of another book I came and finished Caramel and read what you have done of Clove all in one sit. I went back to try and read my other book and now because of you I actually find the book that was purchased a tad bit boring while I'm all queasy with excitement and impatience as I wait for the next chapter to be written and then placed up.
You are an awesome author and I can't wait to see what you do in Clove. Haha, but I will apologize that this is probably going to be my only comment [I think the last comment I gave you was in Cinnamon]. I'm bad at commenting and I just like reading.

Hm, what to say? The chapter leaves me agitated. In my opinion it's very fitting, that Claudius' emerging triggered the memory of the wedding. It was the source of pain, that lead to the trauma and it was the very one thing, that provided OW with their biggest weapon against the brother's psyche(s). With all brothers internal fear of being rejected, I deem it naturally it comes back first. Even Skell did everything for Claudius' acceptance. He learned to play piano! That will haunt them a very long time. Poor Claudius must feel even more guilty than before.

Beside this, I'm really surprised they left the brothers 'alone' and the children without proper guarding. I'd expected Marcus and Claudius at his side - to be honest I expected all mates, Haley and the ancients to fight nails and toes before leaving his side. Why are they so carefree? Even if something from the inside prevented Skell from killing Claudius with a good aimed shot, they must have known his psyche was far from 'well'. Even if he'd only been away for 7 years, it would be awsome to meet everybody; the affirmed knowlewde of him being with OW should have sent Marcus into a francy - after all he knew many of the things OW promised to do to X from HC; and finally Skell begging him to let him dye... A vampire-psyche isn't that different from a human's - you never leave a suicide-candidate to himself. I admit, I'm a little upset with the von Drachenfelds but I hope you will explain their 'absence'.

Poor poor Lex, the wound he received from being initially rejected will haunt him all of his life, even if he comes to realize it wasn't directed at him as a person. I guess, the incident robbed him of the naturall trust of a child. That's sad ... so sad

Still, thank you very much for sharing! I love the Emperor-series.

Well,
I like this new version much, much better than the previous one, well done :) The darkness and the despairing tone is much more suited to a long ordeal (I loved the fatalistic tone of the line "Fuck me Orel Wessel, make me warm inside").
The relationship with Kevin is sweetly sad and the climatic "escape" is much better than the too convenient "rescue" of the previous version. I also like the reunion chapter although it still seems a bit rushed, there seems to be too many people, perhaps a little too much description and scene changing when a simpler confrontation is required, maybe more emphasis on emotion and less on location and introducing the audience. I can understand the desire to add in the children but maybe not all of them along with everyone else and a few loyal guards as well.

I think you do well in making it clear that we have a mixture of personalities rather than one (or more) of the individuals. I am still a little confused as to whether it is Marcus or Armour that is interacting with our beloved in these chapters (should logically be Marcus but he occasionally uses Armour's language) although I am sure that Skell is also confused so this is not necessarily a bad point and could work out into a very nice conversation/reunion.

Any way
I am very glad you took the time to re-write and I think it is vastly improved. I look forward to reading more :)
