This sounds an awful lot like it could be very similar to the Laurel K. Hamilton series "Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter". Not that imitating her style is a terribly faupaux but I want you to be aware just incase someone else gives you grief for being too close to an already published book. Other than that, I can't wait to read more if you decide to keep writing on this site.

Interesting concept.
Only a couple things to note. You said you had no spell-check on your computer, but many websites offer free spell-check. One is "http://orangoo.com/spell/" (I don't know if the URL will show up; you can always google "spell check"). Also, the formatting seems slightly off: paragraphs sometimes run into each other with no space between.
And like I said, it was interesting, so I would've enjoyed a longer chapter.
