Interesting Story!
I have to admit though. Now I am out for blood (revenge). I hope to see all those dominating men and betrayers get what is coming to them.

::stares at screen until eyes bleed::......I know you didn't just leave us with Jesse having the ever living shite beat out of him by overbearing, self important, tyranical bastards, and instead it's simply that the page has failed to completely load.

I can't say anything for fear of incoherent profanity. But I'll attempt to bullet my thoughts as well as I'm able in my numb state.

Sloane: Kill him, please.

James: WTF, he doesn't suck all the time, but I still distrust and am sickened by him as he might simply be behaving because he's gotten what he wants....and the fact that he used those methods IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Ortega: I'm currently rocking in a corner over him. His attempts to be upbeat broke my heart....

Jesse: (Initially)-HELL YES, HE'S BACK! Way to break the ::much profanity:: rose-colored glasses! (Following scene)- HELL NO, HE'S BEATEN! ::pleasent elevator music filters in as Nacht begins to curse all of Crayola's blue streaks:: Are you going to tell us if anything else happened to him? After the beating, I mean, and was there anything else more specific to the attack that we'll be informed of? And what do you mean "This time, they didn't wake him up"? They just left him there?! Buck naked in the woods and oozing blood?! Please, I implore you, don't let this have taken away his resolve....

Your A/N: You mean happiness still exists?! LIES!

I hope you'll forgive my making light, it's simultaneously a Reader's Digest version of my responses and a coping mechanism.

This is going to seem utterly non sequitur, as I've already posted about the miserably frustrating chapter involving Ortega, James, and corrupt system, but I can't help wondering. Is there going to be dancing at the social, it seems likely, as that is often a key trait in large gatherings, not to mention it often requires close quaters contact for reasonable periods of time(don't even get me started on slow dancing), and may facilitate relationship schemes(can you feel my air quotes?). If so.....are they, the carriers, going to have to learn some basic dance moves? Because even assuming they can dance, you don't know if they're able to dance the female part, and I say this out of the assumption that it'll be the more organized dancing of the 40's and 50's, as opposed to a swell of bodies gyrating, flailing, but having a good time.

::Is trying desperatly to imagine Sloane(the weak coward) to teach Jesse a rock step and underhand and not laugh::

I love ur story. I mean half the time I'm reading it I'm pissed off and sad for these guys. I think you have a way of engaging the reader in such a way that even though its fantasy we can relate to this happening. I think its great and update soon ^--^

Damn!! WOW!!!!! This story is so good! I don't know why I haven't seen it up until now but I'm so happy that I have found it. The idea is so original and the writing really shows how the characters feel in their situations that seem to mirror each other. Gosh, I usually don't like Angst but reading this story I almost crave for it. It's so good. I know I sound a little fannatic, but wow! I can't wait for you to update.

You must make the chapters longer. Your dates are getting closer and closer, and I am excited. What are the mountains? Their sanctuaries, I assume. Sloan is too deeply involved, and Clint is vicious. James seems to be not much better. Will Ortega be thrown out of the Center if he conceives?

K, so there are VERY FEW women - they're very very super crazy extremely rare - Soria and this woman are the only two we've seen, and there's only one more that we're going to see. There are sixteen women in the city. So let's say the ratio's somewhere around one woman for every ten thousand men, if that. You're lucky if you get that, and most of them are under strict government supervision on the off chance they might someday yield some reproductive value.

Nacht: Jesse will be back - you'll see him at the fun/mandatory social.

Bookworm: Yeah, as things go, James could be worse. But...Ortega never really had that much of a chance.

TygerLynn: I guess I wasn't quite clear with that herm thing. They're hermaphrodites. Like frogs.

Emily: It won't always be sad. But maybe for a little while.

Green: The mountains are just the mountains - most of the houses have been abandoned and the land's been cleared in rural areas, but some of the more elite families are now beginning to build large homes out there. And Ortega won't be thrown out, but his committment to James will, at that point, be irreversible and unshakable. Fathering a child? In this society? That's like the ultimate calling dibs.

Thanks for reading, guys! Stick around...next couple of chapters should be fun and a bit more Jesse-focused.

I like it... and look forward to more. Will it always be sad? Is there no light to be found?
