For a moment I thought it´s getting better....maybe Jesse will like the guy and Ortega will have a nice family to help him with the new situation....

By the 15th chapter I thought that maybe there would be some happiness in store for them. I was a bit wary at that. Now it proves my suspicions correct. There can be no one happy. Poor Grant. Had this been a different story, I would have been excited having to read about a new character, now I am hoping Havar just dies before anything happens. Is there anyone going to be happy except for the non-breeders?

Another thing: normally I wouldn't be happy at such a short chapter as 17, but it certainly leaves a lot of damage behind. Its shortness is apt.

why did Jesse's mom give him the musicbox?? and Michael can he help Jesse escape Sloan's plans? Iagree I want Tega to be happy- kicking sloan somewhere really painful- I mean he should by rights be more understanding and not such a creep hasnt anyone noticed that the carriers are all being matched up with underlings and not officers

For some reason the phrase "the woods were getting darker" is ominous even after its immediate setting, as if heralding something. It is now November. I have no clue what will happen. I don't like that.

Thanks for the update! I really liked the description of Jesse's mother and their relationship, and now I wonder what role Michael might play in Jesse's life.
