I agree that they need to treat the carriers better. Beating them will just ruin the potential relationship- we dont buy abuse now and why would a group that depends upon the carriers to not become extinct not treat them with care. Poor Jesse, I hope Michael understands even just a little

However does the Center just come and take now? Yes. Nowadays, they just come for you once they know. Sometimes you may know, especially if you registered yourself like Jesse did, but sometimes there's no warning if you just happened to be found out; a jeep pulls up, two guys hop out, and that's it - goodbye to the brixton sun.
Was Havar's friend talking about "doing" carriers? Yes.
Yavisk is the Commander? Yes.

How can Vichy still think he can trust Sloane? Vichy's a bit sheltered; the system (sort of) worked for him and he got a tolerable husband who interferes in his life very little and is kind to him; so even though he consciously knows that Sloane isn't to be trusted, he's not, himself, been exposed to it, so it's not always as fresh in his mind as it may be for Jesse or Ortega.
This was a very quick update. Yeah, I'm trying to work faster without making a tradeoff to crap writing.

Hi! New and very happy reader, got all the story in one go and love it, and now I so hope you're updating regularly! I have a serious thing for post apocalyptic verses, and angst, slavery and non con of varying degrees too, so I'm getting a lot of bang for my buck, here... Also, not all stories here at AFF are well written enough to be tolerable, but this one is a bit of alright and I really like how you're keeping a good pace with the plot and dialogue. Reading it all at once always helps, too, of course (I'm terrible with WIPs, no patience) but I guess it will be chapter by chapter now. Anyway, thanks for the read and looking forward to more!

PS, You ought to clarify the chaperones... who/what are they? When Jesse was at his mom's, the chaperone was referred to as "it"...

That was some rxn from Ortega. He is not suddenly the submissive, poor little carrier. I wonder what James thinks when he hears about it. And DINNER from Michael! That was one thing I certainly was not expecting. I keep wondering if there is something sinister behind him since he certainly seems to be pretty much the only civilised male in the story. It seems to good to be true.
