I'm surprised no one has reviewed this before I did.
It's not easy to write something non-fiction or quasi-fiction because it only seems real to the writer. I should mention, though, that it does seem real to me, and I understand some aspects of your character's (I don't want to say 'you' or 'your', else it may sound a little too personal) world. I, too, was raised by a rather old-fashioned community and grew up with a wider view of the world, and I can relate to that kind of pressure. I applaud you on finding your way through it and choosing that path that you believe is right.
