I really enjoyed treading these two chapters but I am guessing that this story is dead since it has been quite a while since your last update. I would love to read more. As with all your stories, the plot is great and the writing is excellent. It is a lovely story and I am sure that if you ever return to it, it will benefit from all your experience with writing your other stories.

hmm...before I got to the last part, the part about the trees made me think she was some sort of sentient tree-person who took a human form and got amnesia. (If that's how it ends up happening [which I doubt] it's sufficiently out there that this shot-in-the-dark non-guess shouldn't affect it.)
The part before that, where he was telling her to stay in the hole and all that, made me feel a vague sense of dread. Nonetheless, I like reading things where I know what's going on before the characters do. (And what was pulling the stick supposed to do? Trap an attacker to stall them? Give him a signal when he got back?)
I wonder how someone with the capability of taking her heard the humming and got her. Or maybe the dreaming is some form of psychic communication, which would make the "running out to help him" part true. If that's the case, how DID she get so far? Devotion alone won't overcome being in the body of a child...will it?
Oh yeah, one other thing I just remembered: The description said something about sharing dreams, didn't it? Maybe a later chapter (chronologically, so she's got an older mind) can be from her POV? I'm a sucker for that sort of thing.
I read your profile thing so I know it'll be a while before any of the above has any chance at all of being addressed in a new chapter, but I'll still look forward to it.

really awesome story so far. I'm that interested in writing anymore i'm afraid, but reading is still up there! I love to read a lot still, so please keep updating!

ok you got me on another of your stories... just because Ive read 'The Last Pure Human' 3 times... (I read to 9. Firstmeal part1) with no way of knowing when the next post will be and dreading it may not be till a month or something... oooh no Im not begging you to write faster... Im slower than slow myself at times... Im just impatient! yes damn it I can be impatient and still wait... I just wont have finger nails left if it takes too long... and the path to my bookmark of your story will be worn down and well traveled...
