What a fabulously crafted world you have created. I must say that even if I don't exactly like the ending (I'm a romantic, I always want the girl to get the guy in the end), I so appreciate that it wasn't the typical 'happily ever after'/deus ex machina that makes me want to puke my guts out. Thank you for sharing your charming story here! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it!

This isn't over is it? Because if it is, I will cry a hundred thousand tears. Seriously. Karl needs to be in the kitchen where he belongs.

Thank you SO much for this. You did so well with the female characters. So many fantasy and slash writers focus on the men and can't build out the female characters. The strength and love of the females come across so poignantly. And the story was well put together ... the lands and Badlanders, *lol*, reminded me of Hobb's Farseer trilogy :-) The ending was tough for me. I cried buckets - and I'm still reeling from the pain of them separating 6 hours after reading. 1 father gained, 1 father lost. I keep wishing there would be follow-up series, perhaps where Kyle is sent to be with Karl - to take up arms, and so we can explore the Kingdom now through Kyle and he gets to catch up with his dad. (Matty sowed that plot seed in my mind. ;-) Hopefully in yours too...) And my lovely heroine gets back with Karl again. Please? Thanks again - I really enjoyed it and I can tell you enjoyed putting it together.

Amazingly, I am pretty come, considerating that this is suppose to be the end of the story. Of course, I am not really sure, maybe that "Complete" was in error.
Well, as far as the story - it's heart wrenching, nail biting, and wonderful. I can't beleive Lord Sander was such as ass. Everyone was saying just let her go and he's all about the letter of the law. She is from another world, basically it's just because she's a woman. Great story twist - the attempt on Karl life when he was just a young boy.
However, I really don't agree with Phara comparing herself with these men. What she did is nothing like what they did. The difference is they tried to kill an innocent boy for what they thought was right. Then later tried to kill him and anyone else that may get in the way. Phara was trying to save innocent lives, she could have killed that counsel lady - Walker. But she even sent guards to make sure she got back safe. Once you beleive that killing one or many people is the right thing to do, that when you're going wrong. Her act was to save innocent and I need to kill some to save many, that's the way they were thinking. Karl being to one and future war or attached against the kingdom being the many. There's just no comparing the two.
Now Lady Sanders I don't know if I like her or just find her annoying. You have to think how much of any of this would have happend if she didn't tell Phara her vision thing. Phara would not have known she was pregnant and really not know it was that jerk's "Matty". She would not have told Karl anything and things may have been different in the end. Why didn't she just tell Phara not to talk with Karl's father alone that would have stopped the really problem of them being togeter. Even if she still left for the sake of the baby, they still could have gotten married and at least have some time together before she had to go to hind the baby. They didn't even get to say goodbye really, or have goodbye sex, at least. No Lady Sanders tell her enough to basically ruin all her dreams of any happiness with Karl, but doesn't tell anyone about the attempt that will be made on Karl again. In fact, she seemed like she kinda didn't know. If she didn't know that, maybe she wrong about the baby. Or how about, Phara have twins - one by Karl and one by "Matty".
Needless to say I can't beleive this is the end. Maybe the end of story one, but there is definitly enough lose ends for story two. The baby (that must be Karl's) is just one, there is still weather or not Karl is safe. Weather or not he will marry someone else (he better not - I won't beleive he would). Why is that Stalker lady still a bitch to Phara, and is Sandshore safe due to the info Misha had. I still wonder about that.
If this is the end - I beg - BEEEEEEEEEEGGGGG you for a part 2 story. However, for more chapter or part 2 story and still beg for you to be kind. It just can't be over for Phara and Karl. Please let us know something.

Omg.... I'm so happy that Karl isn't truly the bastard he acted like!! I felt Phara's blow right to my gut when he told the guards to arrest her.... aaah more please!!! I can't wait to see Lord Sander's face when Karl and Phara walk in together, arm-in-arm. And also what'll happen when War Thane Bezer wakes up.. though could he potentially develop an infection, and that could be the severe illness Lady Margaret was talking about?
Eagerly awaiting the next chapters =)

PS. I also hope that Phara and Karl manage to change Lady Margaret's foretelling, because otherwise it's like we already know the ending. And knowing you, you will twist things around so much that even if Lady Margaret's foretelling does come true, we won't even realize it so much because of al the twists and turns :P (yes that is a compliment to your writing :) )

OH MY GOD - WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!! WHY!! WHY!! WHY!!
They couldn't just have a one night stand and be done. I thought that was a really bad idea for her to do, but I was hoping nothing would happen. I really don't want to believe any thing Lady Marget said. It kinda make this hole story hopeless, since she has kinda fortold the ending. I really don't trust Karl's father and I can see how he can not have a way to make her leave and keep Karl there with him. I think Sanderson is a jerk - if he is making "eyes" at his "wife" why the hell is he trying to buy "slave" girls like Phara. If he had been a real cousin and comforted her the right way half of the problems - wouldn't be a problem.
The worst part of all this is that even though it looks like it going to be a bad ending for what was and still is a wonderfull story - I am still horrible attached. There is absolutely no way that I won't read any and every update following. I just beg - BEG - you to be kind.
