Incredibly, the plot thickens! I hope Garron fights off the others so he can keep the "rights" to Jara, and let Jara have some say, but that's probably too much to hope for.

I hope Garron knows what he's doing and that this somehow allows Jara to be with Semmelin b/c it seems so unfair that he should be forced into a political type marriage... thanks for the update!

Who feels like an ass for posting again not ten minutes later? I do!!!
In my attempt to rap up my post I failed to mention a big point to me. The emotion I feel from all the humans who've lived outside the compound is something like concession, a "well, what else is there?" rather than a sincere desire. Similarly, the relationships they develop with their wolves remind me strongly of Stockholm Syndrome. The humans in the compound I'm unsurprised by, they were raised and nurtured to want this life, societal expectations, peer pressure, and all that.
I hope to God I'm done now,
Nacht

Sorry, gratia, I just realized you'd left another question:
1. I heard about the tradition of giving away the litter, can you explain what is it? Is it like in animal ways where after the cub reache a certain age then he will goes to a separate way? I come across this in Rift but I dunno which chapter that is.
Yeah, similar to Sparta, at a certain age, the cubs get given up to be raised by the Pack's "academy" - the idea is giving all kids an equal start in life, so that aristocracy/royalty can be chosen by chance or merit. Hope that helps! For more explanation, email me:

Poor Jara, it would suck to be stuck with a wolf who just wants to be with you to get more power; I hope Semmelin wins; thanks for the preview!

So, I have to say that the leery discomfort that has been dogging me throughout this realm you've created has successfully manifested in disdain for the wolves. Not all the time, mind you, but things such as Jara's petition being immediately shot down and he being threatened for even voicing dissent. Or Damon's attempt at a response being rebuked so callously. It's as though their feelings don't matter, they're second-class citizens when it comes to matters of importance. The fact that the wolves aren't constantly domineering and even appear to do kindnesses doesn't matter, they care about their mates and want them happy, such as with inviting Nikolai, but that doesn't change the fact that they view them as subservient. Facilitating an environment where just enough freedoms and gifts are given makes them compliant, happy and eager, because dealing with emotional unrest is exhausting and unenjoyable. Just because they don't beat them continually or demand meekness at all times doesn't mean they don't suppress them. Admittedly, I'm biased on this last score because the idea of being pregnant repulses me, but I think they use them as breeders and give in on enough small things to keep the peace while reserving all the real power. I understand that both sides had to make "compromises" with their ways of life and behavior to come together, but I can't see how the wolves could have an inkling of how against human nature and rights that distinction is.
I know I just pissed a river about your work and you're probably not interested, but I have one little bit. Would it be possible, in one of your stories, to have a human who is in a pack and is young (Jara, Max, etc) who has no interest in mating or breeding? Not even necessarily violently opposed, it just doesn't appeal? I'm dying to see the reception and treatment of such a person who has no desire to take their "place" in life and do their "duty to the pack", but would rather continue on and excel at whatever profession they pursue, like medicine or technology or cooking or even book keeping!
All of these opinions are my own and are by no means meant to be viewed as a "proverbial bird"; I simply wanted to express them and understand that others can and will disagree with them.
