Poor, poor, poor Damon! It breaks my heart to see him like this, so submissive.... Betas are not allowed to have those healing items, huh... that's not very nice. By the way, I'm curious. What does the Beta Code say?

Wolfes love attention. *is thinking about her cocker spaniel who constantly demands attention* I guess dogs retained some of the characteristics from their ancestors, the wolves. *smirks*

Ohhhh.. *feels so sorry for Damon* He sounds so terrified when he keeps insisting that Alex not tell Kriston because he'll 'reject him' - completely brainwashed. Wah, give me the old Damon back. Though Kriston appears to be very patient, much to his credit.

Lol. I must confess my reaction to males growing a womb is somewhat like Damon's. Aww, Kriston's reactions here were sweet. He was understanding of Damon's religious beliefs and cared enough to arrange things so that Damon wouldn't feel guilty.

I'm confused again. Why does the servant call Kriston 'First Alpha Wolfe'? I thought he was 'Second'. Aww, Damon's falling in love. Wow, wolfes are heavy, huh? 357 pounds is equivalent to about 160 kg...I'd be squashed to death if one of them fell on me.

What's a gua- *stops herself* My reviews are just full of questions, aren't they? Sorry! >.< Can't help myself.

Hot sex scene even though poor puppy seemed to be in pain for the most of it. Warmed my heart to see Kriston speaking so sweetly and trying to be gentle to Damon.

All the sacrifices had better damn well be worth it!

Puppies! ^___^ Though I just found out that for wolves, the terms 'wolf cub' or 'wolf pup' are interchangeable. Of course there's also 'whelp' *grins* I'm starting to understand why my friend prefers Kriston. When he appears, he's just sweeter than Garron. There's also the fact that Garron beat Alex up badly of course. Hahaha! I love the tail wagging when Damon told him about his pregnancy.

I thought the part where Kriston said "Good. I've always wanted to see your belly grow full with my litter." was cute. But my friend said it's an ego thing for wolfes to make their mates pregnant so it doesn't mean anything. Though looking at the context of the sentence, I still think it's cute.

Poor Damon. A month of abuse from that weirdo and those other guards, who DARED to lay their hands on their Second's beta. I'm sure he's scarred forever - the begging was just so pathetic and I just felt so sad for him. That Peron is a freak.

Has Kriston had a mate before Damon? Peron calls Kriston 'First Alpha' again *is confused. Again* Oh, dear. Damon seems broken beyond repair - I hope they'll be able to get through this together. Peron should be castrated then killed. I shudder to think what betas must have been treated like in the past.

The last sentence I found poignant - it reminds us, the however much Kriston and Garron act like humans sometimes, ultimately they are not. We may find some of their actions objectionable, but we have to remember that they function by a set of codes that are different to that of ours. What is right or wrong in ours may not be in theirs.

In a sense, though their technology is beyond that of humans, in some ways I find their kind actually more primitive in the sense that they're more 'bestial', functioning more by instinct. Which is interesting. You've created an intriguing world here.

Can't really drum up any enthusiasm for Kaz and his mate but I'm glad Damon's torturers will be punished. Wish Kriston had been around for more of Damon's pregnancy but I guess it's understandable since he's Second Alpha.

'and Kriston, who had spent most of his marriage maintaining the same level of distance that he had in his bachelor years'

But WHY? Didn't he love Damon? I thought he adored him. Why was he trying to maintain distance?

Yay, Alex is birthing! Finally, he gets to feel the joy (pain) of birth. The birth was pretty fast though O.o One and a half hours only. What a godsend. Garron cleaning Alex just sends fuzzy feelings down my spine. Lol! Damon is getting scared, understandably. But he'll have to bear many litters over his lifetime, I think. Since once a year, the alphas go into heat and betas always get pregnant when that happens.

Still not that interested in Kaz and Mikal. Though was amused by Kaz's groping his mate. Never would have thought one so sweet could be so naughty. But I didn't like them erasing his memories or taking away his babies. Why did they take away the cubs? Because they didn't want Peron's genes to continue?

Lol! So Garron can be a softie too. He became so awkward and helpless when Jara got upset.

How endearing that Garron is so twitchy about Alex meeting the new kids. Okay... dislike all the wolfe propaganda on tv. *snickers at the 'drawing tails on half the characters'* I don't know if I've asked this before, but what's a Psire...

*grins* Well, Garron you kind of asked for it. Otherwise, you'd have some time to get cozy with your mate before your little lit starts running around and interrupting all your hot sex XD

*is imagining cute little kids with wagging, furry tails* *squees*

Alex looked at him, somewhat sadly.
"Why can't they wag?"

*joins Alex in looking sad*

Why in the world is Kriston neglecting his mate? This is partially what caused Damon to want to run away again.

"Damon."
Day turned back, his first mistake because Kriston was standing on the path behind him, breathing heavily - too heavily - and clenching one hand across his gut, half-slumped with the other hand resting on his newly-scarred thigh.
"Damon, please."
He wasn't even howling. Why wasn't he howling? He could call his men, have the others here in a heartbeat. Damon knew he was caught. Why wasn't Kriston howling? Maybe it was pride. Stupid, stupid pride because maybe Kriston had decided that if he couldn't bring him back, then no one else should be able to. Leave it to his wolfe to think of something like that. Maybe it wasn't pride.
"Damon," Kriston dropped his head, fingers clamping spastically on his leg and stomach, "Please don't leave me."

Oh, I loved this scene. It really affected me. I could really imagine what the look on Kriston's face was like when he said those words. Somehow, I could feel how deeply Kriston loved Damon. Did he get hurt during a mission?

Damon felt the words like a fist. The wolfe seemed to be struggling to breathe. Damon hesitated just an instant more. If he ran, would Kriston chase him? Of course he would - he'd come after him until he couldn't run any farther. Injured though he was, his wolfe would follow him to the ends of the earth, or better yet, to the edge of the river.

Loved this paragraph as well. Words fail me.

Ah, so Damon has made his choice. I knew he loved Kriston deep down inside though he's never admitted it. He's sealed his fate in with the wolfes.

Poor Day, being confined. I mean, though he tried to run away, in the end he loved Kriston enough to go back and also call the pack for help, right? I mean, he didn't have to. He could have just left Kriston to die and escaped. Wolfes are really strict. And imprisoning their mates like this seems wrong. I mean, they call it 'running away', and supposedly it's a crime - but why is it that betas shouldn't be allowed to choose whether to stay or not? This is one of the biggest issues I have with this story. I just simply don't like it that their human rights are breached...Doesn't make this story less awesome though. In fact, it's probably more so because it can evoke such emotion. Lol.

And now Damon's gone and spiraled into a depression...

Thanks so much for the update! I truly love this fic... I felt bad for Semmelin but now I'm starting to think he's never really been a perfect match for Jara (their puppy love aside) and maybe this new wolfe is better for him; can't wait see what you decide^_^

Great update Jenner! I was concerned how Guanaren would treat Jara but glad to see their first time went well and that he didn't turn out to be a monster. Guan might be ambitious but glad to see that he does have an honorable side (at least towards Jara).

Zechariah is still my favorite though! =P
