Mmmm...I loved this story. Aspen is fabulous. I was pretty much hooked on him from that first scene when he steals Oakes earbud. and the smut was good and fit with the story. I was upset for a bit during the whole shower scene with that guy whos name I've already forgotten, because I thought maybe you'd have Oakes get over Aspen and just move on to someone else, and I realize that that happens in real like, but I was just too in love with Aspen to let him go. Also, the entire grieving process was really believable. I'm just really happy with the entire story.

I just wanted to say how refreshing it is to be able to read a story where the setting is in CANADA. :) It's almost rare to find any original fiction placed in anywhere non-American, haha. I love this, especially since I can relate with it more! For example, with your story 'It's Like This', I'm all, "HOLY CRAP, I KNOW WHERE COQUITLAM AND 'the Island' IS!" *flails* XD Anyway, I've been a gigantic fan of your work for quite a while, and I'm terribly sorry that it's taken me so long to finally review.
This is my third story that I've read by you, and I can't wait to finish it. :) Sounds fantastic so far, and yes, most people (in a joking manner, I hope) aren't very interested in Saskatchewan, haha. [Or any of the prairie provinces for that matter.] Is there an actual school like that in Ontario? Or is it all made-up? Keep up the amazing work!

NJiogaedmlT$#W#ERLisdsL. SPLEE! I loved this story! It gave me... a rush of feelings. Like, everything was so crazy and sweet and so REAL. I love Oakes, and I love Aspen. Blake, oh my god, he makes me laugh so so hard. Seriously.
I nearly shat bricks when Aspen left. I mean, sure, he said he would, but it just made me sad and I pretended that he wouldn't and he would stay and keep Oakes happy. Rfouqewoij321rjqwe#@.
I loved it. Love love love. Just like the rest of your stories. Your writing style is amazing. You're amazing. <3

Beautifully written! You might want to have someone go through and beta for spelling - but it wasn't distractingly horrendous! Trust me, I've stopped reading stories after only a few paragraphs due to the atrocious spelling and grammar - regardless of how interesting the plot may have appeared.
Great characterization, it's easy to care about these guys (keep in mind that I'm disgustingly sappy).
The smut has style, full of feeling - both emotional and physical. Great job!
And I'm a sucker for happy endings (see note above).
Will definitely be reading more of your stories - I'm a fan!

Oh my gosh. Okay. I'ma tell you something really fucked up about how happy your stories make me. My long-distance boyfriend is coming over soon and I'm kind of manic depressive so I read your story today to get myself into a happy up swing for when he gets here. Seriously. Your stories are better than lithium.
MY cat could die. I would then read any one of your stories. Right after my little kittie funeral. I told my friend about Doors and Windows and I'm the kind of gal who prowles around just skimming summaries (Shallow, but alas it is me) and she pretty much forced me to go back and read more by you. I'm like, saving them. I don't want to read them all at once.
I need more for later :)
You're awesome. You should know that.

This was a truly beautiful read. The emotion was very real and accessible, while still being unique and unexpected. When we first met Aspen and he was being all cryptic and intuitive and perfect I thought he was some kind of guardian Angel, but then I was even happier to find that he was a real person, needing something too. :) This one will stick with me for a long time, and I'm looking forward to reading your other work.

I found this story based on a recommendation from Madlodger and his Golden Nuggets list. I'm glad I searched your story out. It was wonderfully angst and sort of oddly hopeful at the same time. Thanks for the good read.
