i'm kind of speechless.. when i saw the update, i read straight through it all at once, and still feel a bit dumbfounded because of its intensity.
i had been wondering when sin would give into curiosity, read boyd's file and discover lou, but the videos were entirely unexpected. how surreal and bizarre it was for sin to see boyd before he became so traumatized and cut off from the world- and the video of the attack was extremely gruesome and disturbing. it was brutal to even read, the violence was clearly agonizing and an unspeakable violation to lou and boyd, especially, and it seemed very prolonged. it was all so horrifying and like a worst nightmare sprung to life. it had me cringing just reading it. and before he knew lou was dead, i found it intriguing and almost cute that sin was sizing him up. and vivienne.. what a cold stone bitch.. a mother who would actually stand by and passively watch her son drown- it's appalling. to be left with only someone like THAT after losing the person he treasured most in the world? it's a miracle boyd made it through, but he did at a very high price. oh, and of course, ryan is as cute as ever, he spices up every part he's in so naturally.
the scene at the kitchen table was riveting, but they seem to miscommunicate so easily. it gives you the urge to just wish you could step in and clear things up for them. it was understandable boyd jerked away- then, at the same time, sin had just avenged his best friend for him and was only gently reaching out. i'm always highly curious at the end of chapters how things will have changed in the next one as their relationship gets increasingly complicated and challenged in these tense, personal confrontations.
boyd's breakdown, the way it was written, was incredibly moving. i don't even know what to say. as for wanting assurance that readers understand the character's actions.. that is a big, definite yes. you do an exquisite job with character development. it is so believable that it is impossible not to get swept up into the story and be on your toes for more. i'm like your other latest reviewer in that i check constantly for updates. i hope that you receive adequate feedback on this installment- the site isn't exactly filled to the brim with readers who review, but i hope most of the people who read and appreciate the story will let you know and give their 2 cents on the characters, since there is SO much here to reflect on.

Hmmm. Now that I've had time to think, my best way to review (at least the easiest) is to say - see Sveta's review for my reaction, too.
A very intense chapter - and I enjoyed the read.
Mommie dearest is really a monster. Do we get to see what made her that way?
Maybe next we need to see what shaped Hsin more clearly.
Does Boyd realize those tapes are in his file? Surely Sin will have to explain his knowledge of Lou and Jared... Of course, then Boyd may have to confess watching Hsin...

I really loved this fic, it has captured my heart and imagination. I never read a fic so well written and amazing. I find myself, checking back desperately to adultfanfiction.net, to see if you updated. I been checking everyday since I found this fic in January. I just wanted to tell you, it moved me and I'll be looking forward to your next update, even though this fic made me cry, I will never forget these tears, because there is something I realized in time, tears only make you stronger.

oh, i dread the aftermath of their episode. i wonder if they'll be given weird looks and if ryan is going to act bitter (because, judging by the depth of his crush, i wouldn't be surprised if he were watching sin's cameras at 2am!) i'm also curious what sin did in the shadows afterward and how they'll react to each other at the next meetings. i'd hate to think of them having to revert to awkwardness. hopefully an especially violent mission will force their bodies into close approximation again so they have no choice but to confront their feelings for one another. ;)
the dialogue is, as usual, so very entertaining- and i cracked up so much at boyd's clueless wide eyes while he helplessly clutched his coffee mug and pointed when the chinese man yelled at him incoherently.
it's very interesting to see boyd and sin both becoming increasingly animated and uninhibited with one another. i can't wait to see where the next installment leads; i only hope they can work through their jumbled feelings without too much grief and crap from people who i am guessing will interfere.

This is a beautifully written story, full of intrigue and characters with actual depth. It's very difficult to find a decent spy story and this is shaping up to be my favorite.
I made an account on here just to review this story in the hopes that it'll inspire you to continue and eventually finish. The only thing worse than a bad story is a good one never finished. <3
