Damn fine start Wendy ;) I do have a couple fine tuning suggestions that we can discuss on AIM, but outside of very minor things, it really is a fantastic start - you held my interest, you got me wanting to read the next chapter, and what I'm very impressed with is how much story got conveyed in the first chapter alone; always something writers have to shoot for but sadly not always an easy thing. :D Looking forward to reading more!!
