_Lamia_ seems to limited a Title for this large, wide ranging, opus.  Maybe something like _Adventures In Cryptozooid Preservation and Breeding._ would be more descriptive and maybe leading.

After reading in your profile that you'd like people to give a review if they gave your a 5star, I thought I'd honor your request :)

I found this story after searching the forums for people's favorite story. I really liked how it was so different from the usual stories you read out there. The one part that really got me (actually had a dream about it) was Clarisse, and St James's interaction with her. I found that extremely interesting and kind of hoped you would have explored that further. What is a 3000 year old being really like, what are their desires, how do they behave, what is their concept of good and evil etc? I know though it can be tough to write about that authentically (being not 3000 years old yourself ... presumably ;P).

SPOILER WARNING

The other part I really liked was after the explosion when St James was able to talk to Dorothy, I found that very funny and extremely interesting at the same time.

Going to check out Lamia II and maybe Smitten Kitten next.

Thanks for the story.

I just wanted to say how very much I enjoyed this story. It was well thought out, logical, and intelligent; sexual without being out of place. I stayed up late finishing it so I'm not as articulate as I'd like to be. Simply be aware that it was one of the best stories I've read in a very long time. Thank you for that.

Moving on to the sequel. :)

**WARNING! Long-winded review with teasers ahead! WARNING!**

I absolutely had to read the story all the way through. The whole bestiality rating sorta turned me away from reading this sooner.

Then when I noticed you had a sequel, and as many hits as you had in your story, I tossed caution to the wind and decided to give it a read.

I'll have you know, I was pleasantly surprised, and ultimately impressed with your story.

You give your Hybrids such character that they seem like main characters themselves, and you've given so much depth to your main characters that they seem very believable. St James seems like such a mild-mannered person, someone who happens to be at the right place at the right time (or the wrong place at the wrong time, depending on how you look at it), and someone who cares about hybrids as much as any given animal-lover.

The surprises and curve balls you've placed in this story are both comical (the whole fiasco concerning a fun-loving Naga) and quite astonishing (a bureaucrat's family tree).

One aspect of this story that really made reading this that much more enjoyable is that everyone seems so awed by the hybrid creatures, and yet you've made them like sentient, intelligent life forms that are common to the bystanders in your world. That underlying sense of quasi-normality really added a nice touch.

I should also note that your spelling and grammar is quite commendable. I might have noticed a few bumps here and there, but for a fifty-chapter story with plenty of description of both character and action, I don't think I'd be able to find them if I tried.

This was an excellent piece, and I will be reading Lamia II! Congratulations on a job well done!
