Oh dear Kolgrim I had forgotten that this story was never completed. I read the last two ch at once and I was a sobbing mess through the whole thing. LOL! Even the part where Nick and Aino were just fishing, I was still crying. My pup got so concerned he curled up beside me and kept licking my hand. You have a way with words. I noticed a few English mistakes but even that did not dampen the message you tried to convey in the scene. When he walked through the house all I could picture was the scene of Elias' rape. Even before he noticed the table I was just reliving the night from the floor boards to the mother on the floor. I was surprised more memories didn't come to him but then again he was young then and didn't really witness everything the reader did through Elias. I have never gone back to re-read victims I don't think I could do it again. It was so well done that in reading these last two chs I recalled exact words and scenes of Elias' last days and moments. I didn't realize I had kept so much of it with me all these years later. I knew I was probably going to cry when I saw this at the top of the list but like a bad car crash you can't help but look. Thanks for working hard on this and Victims to make them truly memorable. Now I am going to go and read Stranger. Hopefully it isn't as barbaric as the last two and the men are more civilized than Anton. :) I am not familiar with Nordic literature are they usually rather depressing and dark?

Ahhhh I could have sworn I reviewed this chapter! Luckily I came back to read it again, because I do love this story...and again this chapter tugged at the old heartstrings.
Please, don't let Olavi let Alex go...Don't let Vladimir win.
I love how you have the poor boy fighting with his emotions. His understandable worrying about Alex's true feelings for him....
Hope you update soon

I'm glad you updated this story again. I can feel it's drawing closer to an end. A bit of a sad end probably but that's fine, I like how things ae resolving now, how everyone is slowly starting to accept what happened. They are all dealing with their own grief, and you make us feel it with them. I like it that you chose a realistic view on Alexander and Olavi's relationship, they won't be accepted in their world. It would be nice if they could meet a couple of years later and have some sneaky relationship anyway though.

CHAPTER 16
This story is so heartbreaking. I did hope that a miracle would happen and Olavi wouldn't have to experience the same fate as Elias. That was so sad. I really enjoyed the fact that Vlad was beaten to death by a tree branch. It is not a dignified death for a soldger, for one thing. It was not only a punishment for what he did to Olavi, but a payback for Elias as well. And the fact that he will be buried in the forest like an animal and noone will come to visit his grave. That was some powerful writing, Kolgrim.

All the emotional turmoil Olavi went through... Being raped and beaten AND finding out about his brother and his lover at the same time. I wonder how he didn't go catatonic or insane. He did try to kill himself, poor thing. A bit selfish, though, it would live Aino without any family. Good thing that Alex saved him. He, actually, saved his life twice; one for Olavi, one for Elias, sort of.

Now Alex and Olavi are together, but for how long? He is still a minor and a schoolboy. Will they be together?

It was totally cool when you mentioned Marko's family in 'Love and broken heart's'. So, now I know more about Aino's future because of it. Not much about Olavi, though:(

Thank you:)
