Cool update! I like the way this story is developing. And I like Allan Salis -- I have a weakness for irritable, world-weary cops. Don\'t keep me waiting too long for the next bit!

A very powerful start! Vivid, and raw, and quite skillfully written. You really throw us into the middle of the lead character\'s pain, and let us feel it as he does. It makes me curious to know more about who he is, and what caused him to be like this.
