i really liked this story, so much that this is the first review i\'ve left on this site. no one i\'ve ever talked to has ever had a great first time, even guys. well, he admitted the second time was great, but still...no \"magic\" the first time. just about every single fic out there has the guy apologizing about what\'s going to happen, then either no pain or a brief little prick, and it\'s gone instantly. i\'m pretty sure that\'s not how it is, even though i\'m still a virgin myself (yes, only to second base have i gone). i\'m nervous that my first time is just going to be awkward, painful, and bad, period. i haven\'t met a guy out there who would inspire my confidence insofar to eliminate my self-consciousness.


anyway, this was a great story, and to those who read this review that actually had a good first go, that\'s just wonderful. if only more people could have that experience, because like i said before, no one i\'ve ever asked has ever liked their first time.

You are my new hero! I love this line: \"Matt finally took on his preconceived notion of his duties as a man and stopped fighting for the bottom. His payment? I took off my shirt\". I laughed so hard at that. I laughed so hard at a lot of things in this fic. The biting humour in your writing style is delightful. I had so much fun reading this, and found it insightful (and being a sex-with-men=ew girl, rather life-affirming *grins*) But damn if it ain\'t fun reading about other folks stumbling as they do it, especially when it is this well-written and hilarious. I hope you write more like this.

Ah how sad. I too don\'t like how people think that losing your virginity is so freaking magical. One of the reasons I stopped writing fluff fics a long time ago.

sounds very similar to my first (and come to think of it every since) experience. that\'s whay i switched to girls. at least they know what the fuck it is they\'re doing down there. well written ;) Caz

My goodness, so so true! Losing the old virginity is literally a big pain in the..well, you know. Infact, women everywhere stop reading romance novels where the couples have the best sex that first time. Lies, all freaking lies!!!!!!!!!

Heh, so much of that is so true that I couldn\'t help but giggle all the way through it! I too lost my virginity to a fellow virgin, and the awkwardness asociated with the positioning is something I DEFINITELY remember about the whole experience. XD
The only differences between my own experience and your (frankly awesome!) fic were:

- The guy and I were in love,
- He insisted on making me come before we actually consummated our relationship (awkward in itself, in a way...), and
- I hadn\'t \"popped my own cherry\", and was in pain during the entire act. My boyfriend also chose the moment when he first broke through my hymen to tell me that he had a phobia of blood, particularly other peoples\', and asked if I\'d mind not bleeding on him too much. That lightened up the situation somewhat, until I realised that he was being perfectly serious.

We\'re now married, though, so I guess we did SOMETHING right. But anyways, 10/10 for your fic! It\'s one of the most real-without-being-OTT fics on this site, and in the immortal words of Homer Simpson... \"It\'s funny because it\'s true\". Excellent job!

written very nicely, i could almost hear it outloud. but it\'s not funny (just sad). and the story goes to show that you could be 17, sex ed-ed and still not very intellingent when it comes to the real thing.
